About Cuura

I love discovering beautiful interior objects. Finding an interior object that truly matches your practical needs, your taste and your desires and imagination takes time, usually a lot of time. Having two children, I quickly realised that I would no longer be able to spend hours looking for that one perfect lampshade, and wished there was one website with a carefully curated collection of the most beautiful pieces to quickly and easily choose from. That’s when I decided to create Cuura. On Cuura I collect information about everything beautiful for the home, ranging from gift suggestions, to sharing niche and lesser known designers, even places you can visit – as long as it’s beautiful, you can find it on Cuura! (And if it’s not, send me an e-mail as I’m always keen to hear about beautiful products as I continuously update and expand the site).

What does the name Cuura stand for?

First and foremost Cuura stands for curation. Cuura is all about selecting beautiful objects and limiting the amount of endless choice we are exposed to. In Latin cura means care and I believe this also fits very well with my approach to interior objects. And lastly, Cuura and my own name Laura share a few letters, so we have a lot in common which is relevant as Cuura is at it’s heart, my taste and personal choice :-)

How do you select products for Cuura?

I select whatever I find beautiful. It’s my personal taste and eye. This ranges from iconic pieces from household names to unique items from boutique brands. One of my biggest joys is to discover small brands, which might not even have an online shop (yet) and to showcase their beautiful products on Cuura next to the bigger names. I believe it's all about the mix! That also applies to pricing. Products on Cuura fit within a very broad range of prices. If you want to shop within a certain budget you can always use the 'Sort by' function on the website to limit the price range. I try not to include outrageously overpriced pieces, though I might dream of some rather pricey pieces sometimes, and if the quality and design justifies the cost, then I might be sold!

Lastly, Cuura is not a museum. Products on Cuura should be fit for everyday homes. You will find all sorts of practical items on Cuura ranging from white ceramic coat hooks to an organic cotton hand-stitched baby bib, because I searched hard for these when I needed them!

I hope you enjoy Cuura!
